In reality, although some of these elements can effectively contribute to accentuating dandruff, it is most unlikely that they constitute the main cause. In many cases, in fact, the real culprit is a fungus, the Malassezia furfur (also known as Pityrosporum), which lives on the scalp on the majority of people without causing any bother. Problems begin when the colonies become too numerous and, as they feed on the sebum which they break up into irritating fatty acids, they speed up the metabolism of the skin cells. |
Dandruff can be divided into two categories: dry dandruff and oily dandruff. |

Dry dandruff appears as dry fine grey scales, which are obviously anti-aesthetic (the classic white mantle on clothes), and is accompanied by itching without there being any particular signs of skin irritation. |

Tecnology: the exfoliating removal of dandruff from the scalp is combined with the antiseptic and skin purifying properties of Chondrus Crispus, the anti-inflammatory properties of Linseed Oil and Extracts of Althea Root and the soothing properties of Sweet Almond Oil.

The products of the blue “Scalp and Hair” line are based on the action of natural active ingredients of most recent conception. They are capable of inhibiting the 5-alfa-reducing enzyme and therefore manage to block the androgen receptors in the follicles and stimulate hair growth. |
The cleansing action used in the blue “Scalp and Hair” line is one of the most delicate you could wish for. Instead of the usual and much talked-about SLS and SLES, tension-actives of natural origin are used. These are obtained from fatty acids and glucose and are known as ALCHILPOLYGLUCOSIDE (APG).
The APG belong to the nonionic class of tension-actives and they are obtained from raw materials taken from renewable sources; another important characteristic is their good eco-toxicological profile.

The most active component contained in the extract of this plant is the beta-sitosterine, a sterol whose action on androgenic baldness has been compared with that of finasteride. |
The Fatty Acids (Gamma Linoleic, Alpha Linoleic, Azelaic, Linoleic, Oleic) belong to the unsaturated fatty acid family and besides having various therapeutic strengths they are able to regulate, in their free form, the action of the androgenic hormones and inhibit the 5-alfa-reducing enzyme.
The Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridossal, pyridoxamine) is capable of diminishing the action of the steroid hormones by attaching themselves to their receptors.

Hair loss problems
- Shampoo. Always cleanse with Anti-hair loss Shampoo. Thanks to its delicate formula, it can be used as frequently as wished.
- Lotion. Before drying hair, or at the most just towel drying, depending on what kind of treatment one wants to follow, apply product directly to scalp, using the applicator supplied, pat without rubbing and then dry.

Dandruff problems
Oily
Wash hair with Purifying Cleansing Oil, as a shock treatment, 3/4 times.
Continue treatment using the Anti-dandruff shampoo for each hair wash after that until the scalp is clear of dandruff. Then change to the Anti-hair loss shampoo.
Throughout treatment use the Anti-dandruff lotion so as to restore and seal the scalp. If wished, one can continue with the Anti-hair loss products.
Dry
Wash hair with the Exfoliating Treatment, as shock treatment, 3/4 times.
Continue the treatment using the Anti-dandruff shampoo for each hair wash after that until the scalp is clear of dandruff. After that change to the Anti-hair loss shampoo. |
